Working to make a positive difference for you.

  • New park equipment upgrades.
  • Greater safety for children.
  • 3 new parks totalling over 300 acres.

Parks play an integral part in a neighborhood. They can be a safe place for children to play and have fun. With the playground improvements that have been made in the South Wichita area parks, there is even greater safety for children.

Councilman Skelton has advocated for new park equipment and has added 3 new parks totalling over 300 acres in the South Wichita area. Future improvements include Chapin Park and a new park at 55th St. South and Hydraulic.

At Chapin park, new bike paths are built, as well as a new entrance road and parking lot. There are 2 dog parks, picnic shelters, and an open recreation area. Also at this site is a model airplane field that brings a unique excitement to this park.
