The South Broadway Streetscape Project aims to improve the safety level and aesthetics of South Broadway. One very important section is South Broadway from Pawnee to the John Mack bridge.

The number one priority of the project is to improve existing lighting levels on Broadway. This would in turn improve the safety level of Broadway. The project calls for improved street and pedestrian level lighting.

Another priority of the project is to enhance the street aesthetics with landscaping. This also includes the addition of landscaped medians with turn lanes. The plan is to use small ornamental trees and columnar trees along the east and west sides of Broadway.

All of these improvements will make Broadway a much safer and more effective roadway. This project was brought to reality as a result of Councilman Skelton working with the recommendations of the citizens serving on the South Central Revitalization Committee.
